Smile Guess what I found in the oil tank?

Topped off my oil this weekend, and after reading a couple threads about dipstick in oil tanks, decided to take a look in the filler neck with a flashlight.
Well guess what, now I have an extra dipstick. Just cut up a coat hanger (about 12") and bent a small hook in the end and pulled it out. Took a little finessing, but it came right out. Looked like it had been in there for YEARS.
Threw it in my tool kit just in case it ever happens again.
Your results may vary.

When my Boxster Engine blew with 2,000 miles, the dealer replaced the engine, and told me they lost the end of the dipstick in the new engine. They said it wouldn't cause a problem. The car went back to the dealer at the end of the lease, not because of the dipstick, but it always was a cause for concern to me.
