Porsche Crest Air Conditioning Evacuaction

The Car:

1977 Porsche 911S Targa
2.7L CIS
A/C
170K miles
Green shocks
Original suspension

I recently purchased this car. The factory compressor has belt removed.

Because of what I have read, I went ahead and have upgraded to a rotary pump, replaced the dryer and control valve. I now need to have te system evacuacted.

What should this evacuation service cost?

Are you converting to R134a or staying with R-12 refrigerant? Jim

Given you are converting to R-134a I would recommend having the engine lid mounted condenser flushed of old mineral oil. Hopefully, the new receiver/drier is still sealed and not open to the air or a hose that is open to the air. Ensure that your new rotary compressor is filled with the proper amount of ester oil. Have you converted the high and low pressure fittings on the compressor to the style compatible with R-134a? Depending upon the readiness of your A/C system and how leak tight it is (and hence how much trouble shooting/leak checking is required) I would estimate $75 to $125 labor plus $30 to $80 in supplies and fittings (adding a high pressure compressor cut-off switch is recommended by the EPA when converting to R-134a) will be required to flush, convert, evacuate and charge your system.
