New Server Software...

Seems really fast to me (and this is on the old server!). The new machine that will be here in about 2-3 weeks is 3X as fast. Of course, there is no one on the server right now because I just turned it on...

Any thoughts on the subject?

MUCH faster! It no longer seems like I'm on dial-up....

Much faster!

It does seem faster. Especially in light of what seems like slower than usual response times over the past few days/week.

Well, I noticed a large increase in visitors, so I decided it was time for a new server (not yet installed), and upgrades to the latest and fastest software...

It's much faster for us international members...

Many thanks, Wayne! ;)

I installed few forums in my time and have noticed that most of them are more limited by bandwidth than computational power itself, at least as long SQL-database is used and not some crude RAW-file device. Lot's of RAM is the key ...

Noticeably faster. Well done!

Latest != Fastest :)

Seems pretty fast, although I haven't noticed any issues in recent weeks.

I'm still having small database problems though...

Wayne,

Just be sure to keep up with security patches, updates, etc... It's nice to test out the patches on a "development" server (your old server), then install the patches on the "production" server (new server) and you'll be more confident that the upgrade will go seamlessly.
