Good Headers
 

Don't need the heat and I figure I can buy new headers and muffler for the same cost as SSI's.

Anyone recommend headers for a 2.4? Intend to use them with 2 in 1 out SS Dansk Sport.

I've been looking for some myself. What I've got currently is an old set of pre '74 HE's which I cut the decaying boxes off off. They were cheap used, and work well.

The Bursch ones are supposed to be crap. One other good option which I've been considering is having Steve Timmins at Instant-G http://www.instant-g.com/ make some up. He usually works with the big displacement engines, but I think can weld up a SS set with stock size pipes. Worth checking into and I think they're reasonably priced (less than SSIs).

I had Bursch. Loved them. Buying a set for my current car. Pelican has them for $316! They bolt to a standard muffler without adapters.

I gots the Bursch too. Easy to install and uninstall. I think they were 2 1/4" diameter.

I have them as well. I've uninstalled/reinstalled about 3 or 4 times and they're easy to work with. For performance I don't really know, most anything was better than the SC exhaust that was on my 2.4

I don't know how else to say this so here goes;

SSIs are the best available headers for a 2.2 - 2.7 liter

They just happen to have heater boxes wrapped around them. If you object to the wrap, slice it off and whats left will resemble a downsized version of an RSR header.

the corrosion resistance is an additional plus

If you end up needing the headers with the adapters for future megaphones or whatever, www.*****************.com has them i believe.

Anyone tried the Dansk headers or those from Paragon Products? (I cringe when typing other retailers names on this board, the guilt sets in)

The Bursch units aren't stainless are they? Heard they corrode pretty fast...

I think my SSI's sound great, look great and are very well put together. A good value. Besides, it never hurts to have heat as an option....
