Bosch vs. NGK
Opinions please on spark plugs for '87 Carrera. Bosch or NGK? I see Pelican has the new Bosch +4's....does anyone have opinion on these?

Both good.
I use plain vanilla Bosch coppers. Platinum (and other 'trick') plugs are not needed. With the cheap Bosch or NGK's, you can replace them every year and maintain top performance.

I'm a firm believer in Bosch for German cars. NGK's for Japanese cars. Even though I've had success with the Bosch +4s (not in a German car), I have read about many instances where a car runs rough or will not run at all after they are installed. Like Doug said, just buy the cheap copper stuff and replace them as often as you like.

I have been using plain NGK copper plugs in my '84 Carrera with no problems. I replace them annually. They are under $2 per plug, so the price is right.
In the past, I used Bosch coppers and they worked fine also. As others have said, the designer "trick" plugs are not needed in the 3.2 Carreras. Bruce |

Stuck Plus 2's in mine, had flat spots all they way through the RPM range. Tried the Plus 4's, same thing. Got better over time, but never totally went away. Went back to the stock Bosch plugs, problem solved, ran beautifully.
IMHO, +2 +4 aren't worth the money.
