Longhood Windscreen Trim

I replace the windscreen a while back (after someone smashed it to steal the seats in the car - a story for another time), but didn't put the chrome / Al trim back in the rubber seal.

I'm sick of the naked look of the car and want the trim back in its rightful spot - can it be done without pulling the screen out again??

An excuse to post a pic - here it is without the trim (and yes, the rubber is the one which accepts the trim )

nope- you need to pull the windshield out again. AS long as you didn't use too much glue, you may be able to save the seal. Otherwise cut the seal out and save the more expensive glass

Yes, be very careful trying to remove it and saving the seal. It's very easy to crack the window. If it was me I think I would just cut the seal to be on the safe side.

The seals are quiet expensive I just got a new windscreen and seal for $1135. The seal being $220.

This was through Porsche, and they had to imported the windscreen from Porsche in Germany. Lucky insurance was paying for it.

Well I got a bit of a surprise when I saw the amount, I thought mayby $70-$80 for a windscreen seal.

The windscreen and seal were all genuine Porsche so thats why the price is about 70% more than everywhere else.

Oh well thats life
