Speaking of the long departed CarToons magazine, I always loved Dave Deal's work in there when I was a kid...

Although I don't have it anymore, there was a great Bloom County comic strip years ago where a middle-aged man was sitting on Santa's lap. When asked what he wants, he replied (and I paraphrase), "Oh, nothing, really. Just a little happiness. World peace, a sane planet, no more starving children. That's all." Next panel shows the sincere man smiling quietly at Santa. The last panel has the man remembering something else. "Oh, and a Porsche."
