rear sway bar bushings

I found a new problem on '77 S. The left side rear sway bar bushing is gone!!! The one that goes between the body and the drop link. Our host shows a part # of A-343-782-00 as being the ones I need. The sway bar is an after market upgrade to what I think is a Weltmeister bar ( its red ). The above part # is for a stock bar setup. Can or (does) it work on the Weltmeister or do I have to look elsewhere

You need to check the diameter and how the weltmeister is mounted. If the diameter and mount are identical, the stock piece should work.

The Welttie is mounted the same as orig. Not too sure as to how to measure the bar. Around or across the end?

I am unsure if I understand your question correctly. You need to know what to measure for 'thickness' or 'size'? Well, in the location of the bushing, measure the diameter using a caliper. If you don't have a caliper, use open end wrenches and stick them on there until you find the one fitting the most snug.

Cheers, George

Sorry I must not have made myself clear. The bushung that is gone is the one that goes to the body at the top of the drop link. Appears to pop in to the ball stud on the pody of the car.
