Is This What Prof. Porsche Had In Mind?
This is somewhat interesting. The winner of the 'Professor Ferdinand Porsche Prize' this year was an engineer who designed an 18-way power seat ....... I would have guessed the prize would go to someone who designed something related to performance. Apparently, not.

Didn't Ferry Porsche say something about a rear engined watercooled car being a silly idea?
Wasn't Porsche proud of being a sportscar manufacturer once? This is NEW PORSCHE. We should be grateful the prize didn't go for cupholder design

The old Prof. designed all sorts of things -- almost every land vehicle type you can imagine -- hybrids, hub motor electrics. It's a broad ambit, and he didn't just focus on sports cars or "performance." That came later with the kids & grand kids.
Nontheless it's sad. |

I think we all know about the tanks and tractors, but these were basically a means to earn money for the company. His true passion was sports cars beginning with the Type 64 design. An award in his honor should reflect what he loved and what his name is widely associated with - performance. Today, that might mean some type of hybrid electric engine, maybe an innovative gearbox or a ceramic wheel bearing - but an 18-way power seat? I don't think so!

Well, I've only adjusted them once and that's where they stay. Even did a 6 hour drive and found no need to adjust the seats. The only other seat I can say this about? Yeah, that's right: the sport seats in my Targa!!
