Has any one ever mounted a colapsable spare tire on a 15x6 fuch? Will it work?

Yes it works. It was used in the lwt RS. Not easy to remove the tire from the steel rim, but it works. I have done it many times.
Be warned that it won't work on a deep six. The tubelss hump is a necessity, otherwise the tire in the deflated position falls off the bead, making inflation impossible. GeorgeK |

Ain't Ebay great? the same rim without a tire would have gone for over 200€... GeorgeK |

What is the trick to getting the space saver spare off the steel wheel, I inflated it but as soon as you let the air out to dismount it it folds back up.

Nein,
The folded tire is not the problem. The problem is to start the tire off the bead. This is where it helps to start with an inflated tire. When the bead is in the deep of the rim, then it is oly a matter of pulling the tire off the rim with a tire iron like you would do with any tire. The folded part will follow without trouble. And yes, it will work on any 6X15 rim GeorgeK |
