Rebuild and install finally done

After 3 months my first rebuild is done. Started on the first try and runs great. I have lots of small issues yet to sort out including a pretty heavy leak from the flywheel seal that must be fixed.

Extreme thanks go to Wayne for the book an all those who have posted here. And to UTKarhmannGhia who helped me out.

enough talk... time for pics.

great job!
I like the yellow, like a bumble bee.

Bumble bee sounds...whimpy. I'm thinking...YELLOW JACKET! Those are little b@st@rds! It's amazing how clean you stay when installing a clean engine  Seems like the only trouble for it going in was the silly clutch lever. It seemed much easier on my SC than on this '74, dunno why. Anyways, it's a thing of beauty making me think about just resealing and detailing my engine next summer :D

Very, Very nice. Hats off to you.

Pat did you paint or powder coat the parts that are yellow?

UTKarmann_Ghia 10-14-2003 09:19 AM

Pat used high-heat brake paint on the fan and other yellow parts. He told me he sanded in between coats on the fan to smooth it out after bead-blasting it.

Yep, used VHT caliper paint. If it doesn't hold on the alt fan, I'll pull it and powdercoat it.

Don't forget to put that oil cap back on :D It looks great Pat, A clean machine.

Thanks Bob. Oil cap is on. I was getting ready to add a quart and took some pics before my hands got oily :)
