Faulty high beams. Help needed.
Hi, the high beams on my newly acquired 911 SC Targa arent working at all. And before you ask, the fuses are OK. I even changed whole headlamps assemblies to no result. I suspect a faulty steering column light switch. Here what happens:
- Low beams are working OK along fog lights. - When i trigger the high beam with the column switch, everything cuts off. I know the fogs are to shut off, the i have no high beams and the blue indicator isnt on either. - The fuses in the luggage compartment are OK. Is there a fuse and/or relay under the dash that cause prevent power to reach the high beams? Thanks for helping. |
common problem (with a variety of symptoms). Search the archives for "headlight" "switch" "relay". Fried stalk switch. While you're fixing, you should install relays for the headlights to keep it from happening again.

Switch sounds like it's gone belly-up. It's an easy fix. Todd is right...do the relays while you're at it. Do a search here on the board for "sucro". Marcus Sucro sells a relay kit for about $20, complete with great instructions.

I too have a faulty head light switch on one car,and would like to upgrade to higher wattage bulbs on another car. Where can I get this "Surco kit" that everyone talks about? I have searched and get a bunch of threads saying "get the surco kit", but none telling where you get it from. Can someone clue me in as to where I can get it please...

Do a user search here on the board for "msucro". Once you find him, you can send an e-mail.
