Thumbs up Corner ballance info

Well, the T-bars, adjustable springplates, Netrix bushings, and Turbo tie rods are in!

I would like to thank Chuck Moreland for answering all the stupid questions I asked him while I was doing the
install !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Chuck.

As for the stat junkies, here you go....

With 144 lbs in the seat (although I only weigh 132) and a full tank of gas.
Corner weights:
540/519
778/754

Total 2590 lbs. (-144lbs they had in the seat and lots o' gas, I guess it would be around 2,200 lbs!)

1.4 degrees of rake.

Front left/Front right:
Caster +5.16 / +5.16
Camber -.84 / -.84
Toe +1/32

Rear left/Rear right
Camber -.84 / -.84
Toe +1/16 / +1/16

Final height
5 11/16 / 5 3/4
11 1/16 / 11

I'll take some pics this weekend! But, first I have to put my rockers back on. What do you guys think?

Why did you corner balance with a full tank of gas?

1297/1294 on the diagonals? You’re three pounds off dude, I’d have it redone.

Looks good, I do agree it would have been better w/ a half a tank. Just always keep it full.

You could also go another half a degree negative camber on the rear.

Well, it wasn't a copletley full tank, I guess. I set ride height with a full tank and then drove to his shop. it was more than 3/4, but less than full.

I usually run it from half to 3/4 on a normal basis. Rides a little nicer and gets better front grip with more than a half a tank.

Are the diagonals what you look for? I have no idea what I'm looking at.

As for the camber, I told Kevin (GAS Motorsports) that I didn't want to wear my tires out too much. I was thinking around -5 front and -1 rear, but I told him whatever he thinks is best for me. What can I say, the guy wins races over and over and his car has been inspected with a fine tooth comb. So, I respect his opinoin. If I wear out the outsides, then I'll change it. But for now, it sure does look gooooooood! Man, it was way too high before.

Pretty damn close I would say.
If you want to tweak it a little more, you could transfer some weight from the left rear to rt. front. Try cranking the left rear down 1/16 to 1/8", or just leave it alone. It's easier if you have an adjustable height adjuster on the rear though.

TOE

Hi Chili,
did the shop have any trouble getting the toe to zero out (more or less)? I ran out of adjustment in the front and they couldn't get the toe to zero. I will have to slot the front adjustment plates to get zero.

just curious.
Thanks,
Troy

Cool calculator. Didn't know it existed.

Troy,

Not sure. They have notes on the print-out that says "maximum camber front = .84 out all the way"

and
Rear toe set minimum at this minimum neg camber.

Arghhhh !!!!

Diagonals are NOT to be equal for tin-can ( non formula type) cars.

See the *many* posts on this if you do a search !!!

LF/LR should = RF/RR.... short form answer.

Okay, smartiepants (wink, wink)...how do you get the left side to weigh less and the right side to weigh more, unless you change ride height to be unequal.

"how do you get the left side to weigh less and the right side to weigh more, unless you change ride height to be unequal."

The entire side? As surflvr911sc mentions, a passenger. A load of bricks or some lead weight will accomplish the same thing.

Chad, Whatever Kevin says, I would stick to it, you have the benefit of him being at the track to make any changes or adjustments he feels necessary. All his competitors know that he squeezes out every bit possible. His car handles great, knows how to manage tire wear, runs very economical.

He spanked them again this weekend. Were you there with Steve and Anders to watch the Saturday Red/Orange fun race? That was good racing!
