Which shocks for an 87 Carrera?

What are your recommendations for shocks on a stock 87 Carrera?

My car is not a daily driver, its a street car with an occasional DE.

Two thoughts so far are original boge's or Bilstein HD's.

Thanks,

Jack

Bilstein heavy duty for my cab as recommended by TRE. I don't do DE. Just street driving. It's like gliding on carpet compared to my original 17 year old Boge. It's worth it. $750 installed. Alignment additional $100.

I got the bilstein sports as well. That with a front end alignment made the car handle like new. One of the best things I have done to my car

my 84 came with bilstein HD's and they were great, the 87 I just bought came with boge's and the PO just replaced them and I can't stand them so I'm switching them over to bilstein's ASAP.

I've heard some guys go with hd's in front and sports in back but I don't know the explanation--can someone chime in who has this setup?

Ok...guess I'll be different. I have Koni sport (yellow) adjustable shocks on my 89 and they are excellent.

I've heard from plenty that the HD's upfront and the Sports in the rear are THE way to go. This is not some crackpot theory - it's very popular. I had it too and my car kicked a$s on the track.

I've had a variety of Konis and Bilsteins on different Porsches over the years.

For a street 911, I really like the Bilstein HDs. Great handling, and great ride, too.
