Value of a 1977 911S
As I own a Carrera and know little about it ( I am learning), I have family friend that has a 1977 911S he is looking to sell. While I do not know very much, the car is located in Estes Park, Colorado. I will tell you what I know:
it is gold with brown/plaid interior. he says the interior is not bad, there is one small crack on the dash. The gold exterior is tired and it needs to be repainted. The 2.7 has had some recent work, and all records are there. I am not sure exactly what has been done, but he says it runs strong. I can go and take some pictures fo the car if anyone is interested, as for the cost, I really do not know what the value is, so I would like some input. He is a pilot and is based out of Phoneix now, so i think if someone wanted it, he might negotitate. Bill |

Gold '77 with bad paint and a brown plaid interior?
Depends a lot on the condition, miles, what's been done to the engine, etc. But since you are asking for a sight unseen guess, around $6500 - $7500 maybe? |

I'd say SoCal's in the ballpark...within 10-20% of that range. Good paint is looking at a minimum of 3-4k. Need more history on the 2.7...coupe's are more highly valued than the targa, etc.

I'd even go as far as saying $5500-$6500
what really hurts is the color and the bad paint, a new paint job is $4000-5000...unless you find the right buyer... Here's collectors pricing report for this month... 1977 PORSCHE 911S 6cyl-2687cc (157hp SAE) 5M #5 #4 #3 #2 #1 Coupe 2000 4800 8100 13150 18300 Targa 2050 4900 8250 13400 18650 Add: Sunroof 5% Deduct: Automatic transmission -15% No air conditioning -5% #4 Fair: runs and drives OK but needs work throughout the vehicle. Body shows signs of wear or previous restoration work. Any rust should be minimal and not in any structural areas. Cosmetics, body, and mechanics all need work to some degree.
