Those sliders look the same as a Recaro set I have for an early 70's BMW.
The Recaro subframe for the BMW's was constructed of flat bat and two round bars. The ends of the roundbars were drilled and tapped M8. The bolts went through one of a choice of three holes in each end of the rail section (attached to the seat) which gave some rake adjustment and height option. The kit was for BMW 2002 and 3.0 S (etc.) I had the kit installed in several 2002's and bought the seats out of a 2500, so I am guessing the slider kit is quite common. I had the same seats in one of my 911's, (1977) in that install I bolted the OE 911 rails direct to the bottom of the seat and all was the same. Regards Hayden |

I think they can be made. As I have been trying to find some as well for several years, but have yet to find anything.
Here's my thoughts: The stock 65 to 73 seats have a portion of the slider bolted to the floor. If you unbolt this portion of the sliding mechanism from the floor, you will find that it will slide in the portion of the slider mechanism that is bolted to the underside of the rally bucket seat. My idea is to take a pair of these sliders and weld a piece of flat narrow bar stock, and have a 90 degree bend on each end of the bar stock, and drill three holes in each end. The one small problem in this, is that the piece that is bolted to the floor in the stock seats is slightly narrower than the slider part that is bolted to the underside of the rally seat, so that it tends to rock back and forth a little. If you could widen this piece just a little it would be perfect. I pointed this out to Rick Cabell at the last Dunkel meet, and he agreed that looked like a good fit , and a good alternative to trying to manufacture the whole part. If you want to give me a call and discuss, please feel free. Regards, Eric Linden . daytime , 206 632-5158 evening . 206 301-9527 |

You're picture looks like an aftermarket seat to me. I could be wrong, however the headrest mounts, thickness of the fiberglass, color of same and the sliders all indicate reproduction seat to me.
No doubt a safer way to fly at the speeds we all drive. I would figure that it would cost 700 RETAIL $$ to turn your shell into a full seat ready to go. Shop around though you will find great variety in price and quality. Good luck. |

RPM, I'm not sure if the seat you have in your pic is from Peter, he's only just started making ST replica's , but the photo Paul posted is definately shot in Peter's back garden.
My seats haven't arrived yet, but i think they're worth the investment.

I have made seat mounts like this for my 70's vintage Recaro several times. Its been in several cars and the mounting is not difficult if you are good with a gas or TIG/MIG welder.
