well, it was an underwhelming event. they expected close to 500 porsches and only about 60 showed up, including Cayennes. Rgruppe and Early S were best represented- not exactly the target demographic Porsche Tequipment was looking for- lots of push on Cayenne from the spokes persons. Still there were some cool items at the auction (961 alloys from the Le Mans car that later burned up, 996 turbo artist rendering etc), McQueen's 69 grey S, Mike Hagen's original Sonauto class winning 914-6, and some nice talk with Vic Elford and Milt Minter. The movie was somewhat anticlimatic- the big screen was only 20 x 20 and the film itself was in letterbox format 8x4 . Still to hear " I want Porsche to win Le Mans" gives me the chills everytime the big slugfest between the 512 and the 917 takes place. what cars they were!!
