Cis Fuel Distributor.

Has any one ever had there cis fuel distributor apart? Been installing a 2.7 engine for the past two weeks. I was having problems whit the fuel injection, two injectors were spraying fuel constantly. I assumed it was two bad injectors. Ordered the injectors, waited a week to get them, and still the same problems. I took the fuel distributor off, took it apart, and found that the metal gasket has cracks in two of the ports. Is this an item that can be replaced? I cant seem to locate a source. Is this something I will have to try and fabricate? Its vary thin metal, looks a lot like shim stock. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Randy,

The stainless steel piece that you refer to actually works as a diaphragm inside the fuel distributor. It works by deflecting under fuel pressure and letting fuel flow to the injectors. If there are cracks in the diaphragm, you definitely won't be getting proper fuel flow to those injectors. While I don't know if you can buy a replacement outright, John at SpecialT Auto would be the guy to talk to. He rebuilds Bosch CIS fuel distributors of all makes and models. He can also modify your fuel distributor for more fuel flow if needed. He will be beefing up my 930 fuel distributor as soon as I can send it to him. He's a great guy to talk to on the phone. Very informative. You can take a look at his website here:

Best of luck,

Brian,

Thanks for the info, I will give him a call. Do you have any idea why I have the cracks in the first place. Is this a normal wear item?

Thanks again

Thumbs up

By the way that was my idea that is doing very well. I was the first one to experiment with it with very good results. You will be good for about another 100hp if you can get it.
