SouthEast Michigan Fall Color Tour

About 60-70 Porsches and their owners/drivers just returned from our annual "Fall color Tour" this PM. We drove out to the Pickney/Dexter area and enjoyed the beautiful day and had a great time. We are all trying to take full advantage of every nice, warm day we can get this time of year, as winter is approaching!

We started in Livonia and met again at the Dexter pub after the 60 mile run and my wonderful wife bought me an "early Christmas gift", a leather and wool "Varsity Style" Porsche jacket. What a great day and we met some fantastic people and had a ripping good time zooming through the twisties in the Pinckney Recreational Area. We even saw Ferrairs, Cobras, vintage Fords, Austin Healys, etc... on the road. Great day and the most fun I've had driving the car all summer!!!!

About two weeks ago my wife and I took our new Boxster S on a trip around Lake Michigan..from Chicago up the Wisc. side ....over the northern part of the lake...across the Mackinac Bridge and down the eastern side of the lake back to Chicago. It was about 1200 miles. Would you believe that we saw only one Porsche - a 993 - while leaving Chicago, and we did not see another for the whole 1200 miles! When you get out of the big cities here in the midwest, these cars are as rare as pink elephants. When I had both the front and rear trunk lids open people were mystifed, and I can't count the number of times people asked me where the engine is in this car. It was quite an attention getter but it is no place for a Porsche breakdown!
