car ramps for maintenance
Does anyone use car ramps for their P-cars? I saw some at Griot's garage with Carrera on it driven backwards. I've used them for my Honda years past but those things seem to slide away when I drove up on them (even with the rubber feet underneath)...scary feeling and horrible screech they make. Anyone use these when they change their oil or do you just use stands?

yup, they work great and I've had good luck with em. I think they are Rhino something or another. 30 bucks or so at the local auto bling palace.

I used them and they work great. I cannot use them in the front any longer since I lowered and installed the chin spoiler. Never had the problem with them slipping?

Try Rhino Ramps - $30 at Wal-Mart, lightweight, huge weight capacity and just right for a P-car.

Yup - Rhino Ramps - they have a very low approach angle and so don't hit anything. Most ramps are too steep.

I use them once in a while, but I have to lift my cars first, then slide them under the tires.

Yes, I use them but like Matt they have too steep a ramp and so the car fouls on the ramp.
The Rhino ones may be ideal -- I haven't seen them. Be sure of one thing though, the ramp legs must be braced front to rear. That is, the legs should have a sidestrap on each side holding the legs from buckling. The cheaper ramps I have seen are formed metal that do not feature a reinforcement strap. Think how pressing down on the center of the ramp might push the legs out, away from one another and the car down. Be careful out there! Ramps and stands are a place where you put good money! John

I have Rhino Ramps as well. They work pefectly. The toughest part is pulling up them...they do not slide but your never sure when you are at the top of the ramp, and you would hate to go over!!!! I have used them both in the front and rear of my car, close but never any scrapage.
