Faulty ignition switch

79 SC. How can I tell if my ignition switch is bad?
And how do I remove it? I have the shear bolts out but can't seem to get it levered out.
I removed the ignition switch on the 70 and didn't seem to have this kind of problem.
The bentley manual doesn't cover the removal or how to trouble shoot very well.

Thanks,
Mike

Ign. Switch Removal.....

In addition to the shear bolts, there is an allen head screw above the main body of the mechanical part of the ignition switch. It has a lock nut on it and must be loosened (but not removed) in order to pull the ign. switch/lock mechanism out. Be very careful to NOT remove the allen screw completely as it is a major PITA to replace.
The only other part to remove is the electrical switch on the back side of the mechanical part.

Good Luck!
