Rally 1970 911T FS in Canada--anyone here?

Ad in Canada Trader

Edit: here's a translation:

"Here is a rare model called the "Rally". More known in Europe. Original model of Porsche. Clean interior and outside. Excellent mechanics. Really roll very well. SUPERB LOOK. To see with the 4960 boul. of Laurentides in Laval. (450) 622-4499. With the pleasure of meeting you."

Is this anything other than a "restyled" T? I know they rallied T's around that time, but the phrasing of the ad makes me think it's just someone's garage project.

That seems pretty pricey.

The pod lights are damn cool, though, I want a set for my car!

Pretty pricey until you get it up on a lift and start peeling off the floor.

Actually, George, Daphne passed me the link from Audiworld...

The value will depend a lot on the car's history. What's the serial number? If it really is a "factory" rally car it will be worth quite a bit. If it is a well done conversion of a stock T, it will be worth quite a bit less then the real thing. If it is just a T with Light pods and updated mirrors, well... What's the value of the lights on top of the value of a comparable T?

Keep in mind that rally cars are REALLY abused. Dotorg, it was you who was recently telling me that the car that you help to support needs a $400 Macco paint job after every event. Abuse like that makes track use look like a Sunday drive to church. But then RallyJon, you'd know that.

$13,900 US = +/- $9,999 US... or there abouts
61,000KM = 37,904 Miles

Pelican "farleyd" lives in Tracy, Quebec, which is not too far from Laval.

Heheh, man our operating budget would have a lot more cushion if that was all we neeeded after every event! Not needing to pay any labor, I've got to guess it costs us at least 4-5x that to get the car back into shape after a given race, with normal wear and tear. (Ie, no stuffing the car).

I've seen quite a few pictures of the older factory rally cars, and that picture just doesn't scream "real rally car" to me. It doesn't look through the glare that there's a cage in there, the bumper looks wrong, etc...

I think its a rally-inspired T.

That's the first rally car I have seen with full bumper and rocker trim. Looks to be an inspired version. HMM I guess a pair of cibies make it all better.

Where's all the bright trim? Everything is in black. and why does it have big black bumper guards? Yep I think the price of a T plus the Cibies sounds fair.
