Headlight Bucket Tab Smaller

Help!!! My headlight bucket tab is shrinking.

That little tab at the top of the bucket, onto which one hooks the headlight assembly prior to fasteneing the lower screw, is starting (or had in the past) been worn away. The assembly is now not so secure. It's okay when I have my Bra on (it holds things in) (no pun intended, so no comments guys), but when I have to run track events in which they don't allow Bras, then the tab holds the assembly tenuously, at best.

Is there a way to weld on more material without destroying the adjacent paint? I doubt "gluing" anything will help, so you guys who are handy with MIG or TIG welders, please let me know if anything can be done to building-up the tab so the headlight assembly can be held more securely.

Thanks.
