Anybody ever heard of the "European Handling Package" on 71Ts?

I'm told by the PO that my 71T has the "European Handling Package". He doesn't know what that means. I don't know what that means. I read in Excellence that the late 60s shipped with optional self-leveling Boge suspension. You think that's what the PO is talking about?

I don't believe the hydropneumatic struts (self leveling) were an option on the T until 1972. Look under the car. If you have torsion bars you don't have the hydropneumatic struts.

"T" models came standard with torsion bar suspension in '71. "E" models often came with "hydroslop" suspension. I hope your car came with torsion bars...for your sake. "european handling package"? Sounds like seller hype to me...unless it came equipped with "S" sway and torsion bars.

In comparison with the way my ''69 T was originally equipped, the "European Handling Package" might have meant:

- something other than 165x15 tires
- something other than 5.5x15 steel wheels
- something with front and rear sway bars instead of nada
- a ride height that didn't provide 2 inches of space above the tires

I was coming off of an autocross-prepped Corvair, and the pcar felt scary.... but not for long as I soon discovered what "European Handling Package" meant.

I never heard of it or saw it on an early window sticker. . .

Window Sticker

"European handling package" sounds like Chirac checking his yam-bag!
