Serious Q - Xplanting 930 torsion bar???

I already have a bunch of darts thrown at me. I am also already wearing the 'cone hat.' So, let's get serious.

How hard is it to transplant the 930 rear suspension onto a 1972? I was told that the easiest way is to cut the torsion bar and weld it onto the 1972.

I already have Carrera suspension with inverted coil-overs installed, rebuilt, upgraded lines, new pads, etc. Now, a monkey is throwing a wrench at me.

Is this worth doing? Again, the mechanic said that the transplant is very common.

Why:

1. I just hate to see the 930 suspension/torsion bar go to waste.
2. Anti-squat feature of 930 suspension (so I was told).
3. I could always resell the Carrera suspension and coilovers.
4. Keep the 72 as close to a 930 as possible.
