mmmmm, breakfast at Sagebrush!! Bummer, its too soon to go back. We have to let our friends recoop for at least a month. Besides, I want to get my next 911 and bring it out sometime. Then we will definitely have to get together. | ||

He lost most of his original collection of over 160 rare cars in an ugly divorce. he may be rebuilding it but it is not what it was in the late 80s (last time I was there). he now specializes in collecting motorcycles and stuffed game animals, guess the ex didn't want that stuff. I haven't heard what the collection consists of now, last time I heard was three years ago. Hopefully he's got some of his cars back. Still well worth the trip tho...... Just did a quick check, he has built the collection back up somewhat with about 40 cars, most of them rare classic cars like packards and duesenbergs, a mercedes 300 sl gull wing, a 959, a 911RS, but no muscle cars were listed on the web site http://www.chandlerwheels.com/autos/index.html Last time I was there every car in the collection was perfect, not a flaw on any of them except a few cars that were original unrestored low mile cars, they might have a paint chip or two. Wonders never cease...I actually woke up at 7:30 and made it to breakfast. We were the ONLY people at the Sagebrush this morning, which was a bit freaky (it is a HUGE place and by now is probably packed with bikers and beer guzzlers.) Anyways, had a fun little drive over Stunt/Las Flores and then I bugged out to head back home over Latigo Cyn. Wow, I had forgotten just how brutal Latigo is. Almost all 2nd gear and constant braking, even in the uphill direction! Fun though My heart skipped a beat when a local Sheriff pulled a U-ey right behind me and followed me home for the last 2 miles or so. I was trying to keep the noise & speed waaaay down so was sputtering along at about 42mph in 5th. No hassles though.

It was a little weird being the only ones in the place Chris. It was good to meet up again with the few that made it. I have lots of pictures which I will post in a new thread.

I had a Great time. A nice quiet Cantina (was it even open?) and some twisties over to the coast. We went from sunshine to fog to smoke from the fires that are burning in the Southland I'm glad Dan took lot's of pic's as I only have a few that are worth posting. Thank's for the head's up Mr9146. | ||
