Wheel weight tape?
You know, it's the sliver stuff you put over the stick on weights to keep them there. Anyone have a source for this stuff? Pelican...or on the net some where?

It's not called wheel weight tape at the hardware store but they'll have it.

I asked nicely at a tire shop, and they gave me three 12" strips for free.
And you will never guess what I used them for. ![]() Tom |

Nada on the locla tire shops. But tell me guys, since you seem to have found it in the local hardware, what do they call it?

RD:
It's the real duct tape with the paper backing. Made of aluminum. Some stores call it refregeration tape. It is NOT the grey cloth tape that everyone calls duct tape.

(I got chastised for pointing that out once here before because you use so little tape, but my tire guru says that 1/10th of an ounce is good for a hundred pounds of force at 70 mph, or something close to that. All I know is that we used to have to factor in the weight of a 3" piece of tape on our enduro kart wheels.) Last edited by Zeke; 10-25-2003 at 08:32 PM.. |
