Another newbie
It's such a crappy day here in Toronto - so I decided that if I can't play with my new toy, I'll start to document all the stuff I've done to it, and stop my lurking on this site at the same time.
This is my first Porsche, a 1987 silver Targa with 105k KM's on it. I'm the second owner - the body is perfect - it was a total gargage queen before I got my hands on it. The upgrades started slowly with minor cosmetics, and ended last week with a Steve Wong chip - why on earth did I wait so long! 2003 Mods; - 930S crested steering wheel - type 959 1 piece leather shift knob/boot & brake lever boot - total replacement of all shift linkage bushings & washers - Alpine deck & JBL speakers fr & rr - back seat removed - up shift indicator light disabled - OEM disks front & rear, Hawk pads - SS brake lines, ATE SuperBlue - brake pedal lowered - Koni exterally adjustable shocks - Weltmeister bump steer kit - suspension lowered & aligned - Stable Energies Camber Truss - Stable Energies harness guide bar - TeamTech harness - Custom fire extinguisher mount & leather cover - OEM alternator (polished the fan at the same time) - Oil return tubes replaced - Air intake and K&N filter - Cat bypass pipe - Steve Wong chip In addition the valves have been adjusted, oil and transmission fluid replaced with Mobil 1. I'll be spending the winter researching a body kit (Ruf or Strosek style), 8" Fuchs for the rear, a Carrera tail and RS door panels. What I really enjoy about this car is how much work you can do your self. DTD |
Post a pic of that thing. And welcome to the board.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have been pretty busy. Post some pics when you have a chance.

welcome, sounds like you are well on your way!

I'll get right on it - but it looks like every other silver Targa - for now! Has anyone refinished a Targa bar in anything other than classic black?

DTD,
Man, you've been busy. Post some pics and don't forget to drive the car and enjoy the fruits of your labor! |
