Question kneeboard removal

hello all,
i need to give the glove box door on my 73 a bit of TLC. It looks like it is held on by two screws that i can't get to without taking off the kneeboard, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Anybody know the trick?

thanks,
jason

There are small nuts that hold the knee board to the bottom of the dash panel.
You'll have to "feel" them out and use a small open ended wrench to remove them. I want to say they're like 8 or 9 mm for some reason.
They are a pain.

Yep, the kneepad needs to come off. The kneepad is retained by two studs molded into it; these are secured by nuts. The studs are about 4 inches and 19 and a half inches respectively from the inside (middle of car) edge of pad. Reach up under the dash to access the nuts. On a '73 the nuts require an 8mm wrench or socket. Cheers, Jim

jason
