Calling all fat a$$es
I'm no 'tiny tuna' (as my mom likes to say) and I'm looking for some sport seats for my car. I've sat in the MOMO seats and I couldn't fit my left leg in the space between the supports.
I'm not HUGE i'm slim and in good shape but nevertheless i'm 6'6" and 230+ lbs. I'm looking for a comfortable sporty seat that isn't WAY restrictive. I'd prefer something that DIDN'T recline but beggars can't be choosers. Thanks, (am I annoying anyone yet with my incessant question :P ) Adam |
Has anyone mentioned Sparco Evo II's yet? They are a racing seat for the more horizontally challenged.

:D The official fatass seat thread:

Thanks for the link, didn't know it was already talked about. Did a search for fat ass drivers and didn't come up with anything... :)
I can see what they're talking about and i'm going to check out the EVO2's and 3's but i'm still really interested in those roadsters. Does anyone have these? They seem like a REALLY nice street seat that could double as a track seat. Adam |
Noah, did you buy any seats?
I like the Pole Positions, plan to go sit in some at a performance shop when I find some time. I wonder if I can reuse the hardware from my sport seats or do I need the $89 a piece brackets? Can I use my stock seatbelts untill my credit card cools off enough for the harnesses & hardware?
|
I'm 6'3" and about 225 and the EVO 2s fit me fine. Just snug enough without being uncomfortable. Kinda difficult to get in and out of, but once I'm in, it's nirvana.

Paul,
Nope if you go RECARO Pole Positions you'll have to get the snazzy little side mount brackets.. shoot me yer address I'll send ya the harness bar for nothing but shipping Ciao, Eric |
PO had put Cerullo seats in the '87. I notice a significant comfort difference between these and the stock seats in the '89. Most is directly in the butt - Wider seat bottom. No real difference in the sides.

Anyone tried Corbeau seats? They seem like a great price for the seat you get...
Adam |
The Corbeau Forza II is designed for bigger people.
|
I just installed a pair of Forzas. The price was right for an occassional track seat plus they weight 60lbs less than the factory sports! Off to VIR this afternoon for a 3-day event. I'll file a seat report Monday.
|
Don't forget that the Forza II is basically just a bigger Forza. It's not a newer model of the Forza, just a bigger size so to speak.

Gee, I thought this thread was going to be about wide body Turbos and such ! Sorry, my mistake.....

Try Evo III's. They're pretty wide.

I didn't use them, Myself and I think (rdane), we both bolted them to the tub.. to keep us low in the car and reduce weigt. I do not think they will fit on th sliders, but ask Jack O. he has the same seats we we do the RECARO pole Positions. and I think he used the sliders.. EricSmileWavy |
