Best product(s) for interior care

What are some of your recommendations for which products work best for the interior of our porsches? My porsche is the first car I've owned with leather interior. Here's the silly second part of the question: Is Armor-All a definite no-no? And, not with just the leather. Thanks

Jesse

It's a no-no.

Lexol, Megfuair's or Harleys are good for leather. Most important -- keep it out of sunlight and extreme heat.

I have two things to say:

1. No Amor-All.

2. www.leatherique.com

Enough said.

I second the Leatherique products. Use the Pristine Clean and then the Rejuvenating Oil. I bought a couple of spray bottles and use them straight out of the sprayer.

Lot's of folks on this board use them and rave about the rejuvenating oil. You let the oil sit on the leather after rubbing it in by hand and all the dirt and grime is released from the leather. Then clean and reoil.

I used to use Lexol.

Bob,

Did you have an actual bad result or bad experience with Lexol, or did you recently discover Leatherique, and do a test to see which is better?

I have used Lexol for the 20+ years of life of my leather interior, and can see no down-side to having used it. In fact, the interior smells just like it did when we picked it up at the factory. It might help that the car is garaged and covered from any sun when outside, but I have not have anything bad happen with using Lexol.

Anybody else?

I've used Lexol on leather for years with the same great results. I also use Lexol Vinylex on non-leather surfaces. I've found it to be the excellent for the rubber lip on my Carrera spoiler as well.

Andras:

The Lexol products worked fine for me. However, they seem to have a more superficial effect on the leather.

The Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil worked better by "pulling off" the very fine dirt on the leather door handles and hinged bin cover. Also, it pulled alot of gray discoloration off of the seat bottoms. Even though it's an oil, it does quite a cleaning job. The leather is now soft, but not a wet or slippery soft.

I'd say Leatherique is overkill for regular maintenance. Otherwise it's great stuff. I use Lexol with good results as well.

Stephan, I believe it's Larry Reynolds from Car Care. He used to be associated with the PCA NNJR and a car care "consultant" for the PCNA. He's a great guy and certainly knows his stuff.

The Car Care Online Guys are the final word.
I use Lexol and am very happy.
ArmourAll is really bad according to almost everyone. Leave that to American used car dealers.
Above all, try to keep your leather clean. Dirt is the enemy. Get into the pleats and seams of your seats to get the grit out. Helps the stiching last.
Congrats on the leather interior. You will not go back.

Lexol on the vinyl/plastic parts inside and out.
Leatherique on the leather.

I order my detailing products from http://www.properautocare.com (except for the leatherique)
They have a very good guide to detailing at http://www.properautocare.com/freguidtodet.html

Leatherique recommends you use the oil first and then the cleaner, after the oil forces the dirt to the surface. My leather seats are a lot softer after using leatherique oil.
