Okay I am seeling it for good this time
I know I said it before but I really need to do it this time.
How does this sound to you guys? The car is in great shape. It has been my baby for a year and a half. S Car Go has been the people to do all the work on it. All the major updates have been done as you can see. You can buy the same year car in lesser shape with no updates or mods for about $12,000 to $15,000. Updates: Timing chain, Pop off valve, Alternator, Turbo tie rods, Sport motor mounts, starter, stainless steel brake lines and many more… Mods: Throttle body, Sensor plate, RUF fiberglass front and rear bumper, H4 Euro headlights, RS front shocks, Bilstein rear shocks, Sway bars, Strut Brace, Dual out custom exhaust with SSIs, Wevo shifter and shift coupler. Sound: Custom rear seat sub box with JL sub, Arc Audio amp pushing Rainbow high end speakers. Sound is great. Professionally done at Peter's Audio. It has 87,000 miles on the original motor. The bad: - Small stuff that I didn't get around to, - Ignition is sticky, starts up all the time no problem, just might take a couple turns. - I have started on a heater backdating and not finished it. I need to find the right side heater shroud off a 74 to complete. - Engine decklid has some spots on it where it looks like some bird dropping were sitting for a while and the acid discoloured the paint. I had planned to put a ducktail lid on the back so I didn't do anything to it. Wheels need to be repainted, to me atleast. Eye of the beholder, I guess. Someone (bastard) backed into the right front fender and it is dented (about a dollar bill size) minor but will cost $150 to pull out. There is no paint damage. That is about it. The car has all kinds of goodies like a car cover, a jack plate, Manuals, books, and alot more. I am getting rid of it cause I am down sizing in my life. If you would like to see it let me know. I am gone this weekend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The front airdam is a RUF and I don't know the company.
I am asking $18,000 OBO. S Car Go is resposible for all the work. No nerfs

Yeah, the last corner balancing the weight I think came around 2750?
With all the work on it I don't know the HP but it goes really good. Most everything is done that I wanted to do except Ps and Cs and the wheel upgrade to 9s and 7s. Any takers?

tough sell at that price I suspect. You'll have to find an owner who wants all the mods. That is a rather small pool.

I also have all the original parts. I forgot that on the ad.

Maybe you should get the dent pulled out on the fender? If this is the only blemish on the body it might be worthwhile fixing before you show the car? Just an idea...

It looks like a pretty nice SC. I'm sorry you're 'seeling' it.

Nice looking car...
Now if only those techtonic plates would get off their ass and bring us a little closer together!

You are still a wing nut, aren't you (and I mean that in the best possible way)? Hop a MAC flight to Travis and drive it home.

Leland, if you are interested I may even drive it out there and fly back. It would be an incredible vaca and last drive of my baby. I also know that it would be going to a good home.
I also plan, if anyone cares, that if someone doesn't want to pay that jack i can pull the stereo and stuff to lower the price.

Unless you find someone here who wants it w/ the stuff that you put on it, (and will pay for the mods), I would un-modify it and sell the aftermarket stuff separately. It would be easier to sell the car stock, and the bumpers, shifter, etc. will sell quickly for good $$.
The sad fact of the matter is that the only way to get good $$ for an SC, (unless it is a concours car), is to part it out. Your car is probably worth $15k in parts, but it is a $10k car as a whole. (In stock form). ![]()

My take is you have done some of the major mods needed on an SC. Low mileage engine in comparison to most SCs. $18K isn't out of line except for the typical Pelican poster. In the Seattle paper you would be spot on at 18K IMO dent and all.
Typical SC owner has 150K miles without SSis or fiberglass bumpers thinks their cars are worth 15K. Having done much (and more) the same to my car....I am looking for similar cars in different versions. No way would I strip it or sell it for parts. Last edited by rdane; 10-26-2003 at 02:12 PM.. |
