car stolen

First ,I must thank each and everyone of you....thank you. As I type this the sicking thought that the car that I have wanted for 15 years and owned for 21 months is gone...stolen. Please forgive the rambling for I am heart broken. I know many more have lost so much in the last few days in southern Cal. However now I join the ranks. I went out to look at my car and it was gone from my apt. carport. It appears some prick used a Tow truck (rear wheel lift). I am sorry I havent posted more I was to busy driving my car and lurking on the board. Man this is going to hurt in the morning. So if by chance anyone saw a White 89 carrera targa (grey int. 7 & 8 fuchs) being towed in Marina Del Rey between Tuesday 10/28-10/30. Please let me Know I want so badly for this to be a dream. ( As a note although the 8 inch fuchs where redone by Al Reed they had slight pitting on the peddle sides...black polished lip)..thanks...I did not want to say hello this way...hello-paul

My heart goes out to your bro. I hope you find the car and the thieves get caught.

That blows... I really hope it's recovered quickly and is unharmed.

That certainly is bad news. It never ceases to amaze how people can take reasonable precautions and the crooks employ more radical techniques. Hopefully you had insurance, but either way, I am sorry this happened.
Good luck,

bastards - i know the feeling only too well.

i got over it and started looking for a 930! i spent a month agreeing the value with the ins company, found a turbo i liked, and then the day the ins co were going to send the cheque the police found the car!!

mine was pretty much untouched.

i hope you get lucky too - if not, its not the end of the world (the worst part is the invasion (the bastards got the keys from in the house) of your privacy - console yourself with a 930 maybe?!

Targa,

Sorry for your loss...what a feeling of being volated.

Did you have any type of theft detterent enabled on the car. Although these scum towed it perhaps an alarm.

Hope it's recovered shortly. There's lots of members in CA to keep an eye out for you.

Sorry to hear that Paul--hope it ends well. There have been a couple of threads stolen cars and accidents with good advice for dealing with insurance companies.

Sorry about your Pcar loss Paul,
Hopefully they dumped it off to clear any GPS tracking for a few days and it gets found?
Real bummer, I can't imagine.
How do you spell relief?
930

Put those flame thrower sides on it next time. have you seen that thread? Anyone walks up to the car and flame on, your hosting a live BBQ.

Porsche Crest Sorry to hear it-

Paul,
That really sucks. I'm sure you had it covered for theft? If so, I agree with the others, that presents a good opportunity to be in the 930 market, but it still sucks now. Good luck.
I always get so jealous of you southern Cal. guys with loads of cool shops, events and all, but there is also more of this type stuff going on out there as well, hope things work out.

cant sleep

Thanks for the kind words-really. It was because of this board that I bought the car. It really hit me when I got off the phone that my car is gone. When you find yourself saying to the claims person "no ..no one thing that could be used to identify the car-it was everything about the car-oh you mean dents or dings well .. the answer is no" I need to cry ..really

Find them, then castrate the bastards, then you can use hot sauce and salt as an after shave. Nothing pisses me off more than when someone steals you car. Especially a porsche, more of these neanderthal idiots could never imagine what we go through to keep our cars the way we do, and then a good number of us work on them with our heart and souls. And then one day an ungratefull misgrace to the human race steals all that away. This is why i'm trying to think of a way to use an old bosch coil as an eletrical security device. Imagine try to steal someone car then getting juiced with 15k volts. Serves them right. Or like that theft device in the naked gun 2-1/2 where a mechanical arm reaches from under the car and lock onto the thieves testicles, then the clamp dislatches from the arm staying clamped on the thieves testicles. Now that's an alarm.

Thanks Paul for putting the pic in with the plate number. There are a lot of Pelican eyes looking for that car now.
