Strange disappearing front end noise!
Well. did a tranny lube change using Sepco 201.....more about that later. Took the 85 T look out for a test ride, everything is cool. Trans shifts nice, beautiful day, nice ride with my son. I pull into my driveway, get out and there's a squeaking coming from the drivers side front end. I have my son push down on the bumper and I go under for a look. I narrow it down to the ball joint, feeling with my hand for vibrations. Mind you I changed the shocks all around a few weeks ago but I can safely say they're good.
I get out the jack and jack the drivers side up and grab the wheel checking for play. It dosen't seem bad, but I decide that I'll to do ball joints anyway.....I figure it's time....67,000 mi. So I drop the car down and the noise is gone. Any thoughts??? Mike:confused: |
Worn bushings can cause this and if they are original that would be my bet. They get deformed and will allow the torsion bar to rub inside the A arm causing them to squeek.
