Noah,

That would be sweet if you could make it!! I'm going to be in Fells Point for the Halloween festivities. I'm gonna be hurting Sat. morning but it will be well worth it. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for posting

Jim,

Haven't checked the NoVa board lately, thanks for the cross post. I should be able to make it.

I may be able to get another local P-car into it. Will let you know by Friday.

Thanks, Gordo

Great day for a NoVA Fun Run. Sunny and in the 70's by the end of the run. About 18 cars made it today with some of folks driving a few hours just to get to the starting point. We had a number of new folks join us and a lot of our Fun Run regulars, too. We ran through more hilly, twisty roads today than ever before. Just a fantastic route prepared by Doug E and coordinated and led (briskly) by kstylianos.

The moving van pulling out onto the road just over the crest of that one hill caused some serious puckering for some of our gang. The lead puckeree, Jeff, credited his S-calipers on his early 911 (w/ 3.2L) for the save. I think that's an excellent testimonial.

Here's a couple of pics in case you're into that kind of thing...

Yeah, and that guy looks like he's having a good time too!!

As the driver of the car directly behind Jeff, let me just say he was not the only one puckering. Whew!

It took a second for the blue smoke to clear and thankfully no problems. 'Testimonial' is the correct word, anything other than those P-Car brakes, and the good drivers we have in this group, we'd have had a few more 'convertables' in that lineup.

Great run - hat's off to the organizers for the route selection, the choice to go early to avoid traffic, and the bait (oops...I mean pace car - thanks Charlie).

Let's do it again!

Keith

What a stellar route and great weather too. Days like this remind me why I still live on the East Coast. Here are some of my photos:

Mine's the one on the right:

Need I say more? Note the John Walker's Workshop license plate frame:

Check out these trees:

Talk about a wolf in sheeps' clothing - beneath this decklid is a 3.2 with Webers. We almost lost this one today when a moving truck pulled out of a driveway just over the crest of a hill. I think this car has flatspotted tires now.

Our fearless leader's new engine:

This reminds me of that old Life Magazine shot of the teenagers all gathered around the hood of a car. Everyone checking out Charlie's new engine:

Here's the nicest 914 you'll ever see:

Future Porsche driver and charter member of our DIY gang - he's at every gathering:

Wish I could have gotten some more action shots, but I was busy staying on the road. The trees were just gorgeous and I wish there had been a movie camera to catch some of the leaf tornadoes we created. Awesome scenery. Great run!

Thanks to Dan (Targa911Man) for the post run gathering and refueling. That will be the last time his wife suggests lunch after a fun run

Wow! This was my first run with the NoVA gang and it was a BLAST! Great group of folks and some incredible cars. I wish I had some action shots; however, I was afraid to let go of the steering wheel during the run.

Nice pics Justin. Of course I was a bit nervous passing you while you had both hands holding the camera.
