I made it to the last drive and the drive a couple of months ago. On the last drive BAR drive my '82 was the only car older than '95. There were only 5 cars. Larger turn outs (like 38 cars 2 months ago) mean more variety. I'd like to get involved in Bay Area drives that include more early and mid year 911's.
Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend. My engine is still on my garage floor getting new seals and vacuum hoses. Same link I posted in a thread on GT3's earlier today: http://www.montereydiving.com/bardrives.html -Brad

I'll be there. Guess we're meeting up at the 7-11 on Mission Blvd @1100 on Saturday. Hopefully more Pelicanheads will join us. I'll be in my SC.

chris,
How'd you get your car running? I'd love to make it, but have plans with the parents. chris |

I swallowed my pride and had it towed to my mechanic in Martinez. I knew it was the fuel pump but I didn't feel I could replace it w/o starting a fire in my tiny one car garage. Hope you can make it to the next drive.

thats it, the 7-11 on mission blvd south @ 11 am. its the mission blvd exit that links 880 and 680 at the south end of fremont.
i will be bringing my motorolla type walkie-talkie for forward recon during the run. its great to have someone up front spotting the rare bicycle or oncoming traffic. briong them if you got em' brad, this is not really the "offically sanctioned" bar run. little more informal (no banners or group photos) , just some of the guys in the group wanted to try some eastbay run. i obliged with the mines suggestion and its taken off. toby

Oh, Im so in. Last weekend I saw a row of 911's (mostly 993s and 930s) go ripping past Alice's restaraunt up on Skyline but I was too far from my car to catch up with them. I can't wait to meet some of you guys and see your rides and finally drive with cars of the same breed.

It seems like I hear about these drive too late. I missed the last one because I already had plans. But this time I also have a class I attend on Saturdays for 3 hours. Please keep trying on these drives and I will try to pick up the date sooner.
My 81 needs the company of others of its kind. ![]()

Sounds fun...
I live in Livermore, not far from Mines Rd., maybe I could join up at the junction of Tessla and Mines Rd? My RS clone is in the shop for rear wheel bearings, but if the weather holds I could drive my 64 356. Its no early 911 (kinda slow) but I could bring up the rear
![]() Do you know what FSR channel you'll be on? I could be ready and waiting to pull into line given a little advanced notice of your arrival. Hope to see you guys tomorrow!

doug my guess is that if we meet in fremont at 11 we might be out to mines around 1130-1200? i know it does not take that long to get out there but i figure that there will be some show and tell in the parking lot.
i assume the FSR is the motorola type? if so ironically enough im usually on channel 7-11. you can call me on my cell phone a little after 11 for a better idea of time, its 408/515/9315. hope you can make it, would enjoy checking out your 356. im in no hurry so a stop at the junction was always in the cards. you could catch us about the time that the line subsides at the bathroom... toby

what a great run for all who attended. the range of cars was great, a 356, some SC's, the 74 w/ 3.0l power(b-gruppe canidate?), the club sport carrera 3.2, the 928, the 996, 996 turbo and my pop's z06. i think all we were missing really was a long hood. it was good to meet all you guys and look forward to doing it again soon.
i got a video camera yesterday and will shot some film the next timeout. maybe my next favorite route hwy 25 south of hollister. much like mines traffic wise only not quite as technical, a bit more wide open and fast. will be in touch here soon. toby

i got some pics of the event, will post them tomorrow (I forgot my camera cable this morning, doh!). B-Gruppe? Sign me up.
It was a long drive home after my exhaust disconnected. Nothing like 2 hours of 3.0L straight-pipe roar to send you to bed at 8:00pm. Had a killer time though, can't wait to hook up with you guys again.

It was fun...
trying to keep up with you guys (and failing miserably). The ole 356 got a good workout though... Was good seeing all the cars and Porsche people. It was really perfect Porsche weather (60F, mostly sunny).
I look forward to the next run up my way, I'll definately have my RS clone back for that one ![]()

I was out there in my SC & saw (some of) you guys on your way back along mines road. An SC (Carrera?), 996, another SC (?) & sweet 356. For some reason I didn't get a v. good look with me going in the other direction & all.

I was driving my 64 356C. I think I saw you as well, and a Boxter not too far in front of you no?
We had a good run going up, little more traffic coming back down.

yeah the rennlist guys, chris due to an idle in flux, and doug in the 356 headed back to livermore from the junction. we missed them on the best part of the run which was out del puerto rd.
again with the enthusiasm that was generated by this run i will try to set something else up real soon. my dad even had a good time in his america iron, even thought he felt or maybe only looked like the ugly duckling.... toby
