Jocke:
Nice progress...a shame more people didn't comment yet. It's nice to see home shop work looks basically the same all over the world ( my garage, at times, looks the same.)
- What kind of carpet type dash cover is that ?
- how will those side head restraints work as a street car?
- what kind of cage is that ?

interesting the OMP seats have the VW "R" symbol on it. :D

I'd love to see more pics!

Great project - more pics?

That will be a sensational car when finished. I might have missed previous posts, but any more details?

I am always jealous of you guys with garages with a bit of room to move! My tiny garage barely fits the 911! And I like the parts in your garage too!

Great work. Keep us up to date.

Ash

Looks like that RUF motor would be great for early car guys who want a real sleeper tail-less turbo!

Thanks for the pics.

Wow! Is he doing the side ducts?

Paul Thomas 11-02-2003 09:25 PM

Interesting rear brake set-up. Does it still have an E-brake (parking brake)?

Paul

very nice. any more info? what are the upgrades from and how much of it will be left at the end of the project?

Jocke 11-03-2003 04:58 AM

For you who not been following this project from the beginning:

It started with an raceproject the car is a '81 SC, the plan was to build it with a Carrera 3,2 engine in a wery lightened body.

But as you now... things can only be better... suddenly there was an chrashed RUF CTR that was totally damaged in bodyparts but wery fine in engine, gearbox, brakes etc.

This guy bought it and started to put all parts from it to the heavy lightened SC.

So this car has everything from the RUF CTR under the body. The body are in plastic and carbone, plastic windows etc.

at 1.3bar the engine produce around 540hp and it's build to handle up to 2bar pressure on shorter racing events.

Now the 6-speed gearbox are away to have an overview and service, then everything will be in place.

Wil Ferch: It's no dash cover, there's something they do to the original leather, in sweden the work calls "flocka"

JackOlsen: Yes i think so, at least he have them laying in the garage, but it was some problems fitting the engine into a SC-body the IC doesn't have enough room so mybe he goes for a big IC on top f the engine instead.

P-THOMAS: It still have the parking brake, "bolt-on if i remember it right"

BTW: I got plenty of pics if you are interested of more.

See Ya

Ruf really cuts the fenders on the inside, it's *not* a standard install. Is your friend also going to grind the rain gutters out?

Wil Ferch 11-03-2003 01:41 PM

I understand if you grind the rain gutters out, you're in for one heck of a problem. It acts as a seam point in the roof construction. You have to know *exactly* what you're doing or allowing yourself to get involved in.
