Cis air box size
i blew my air box on my 1983 3.0 engine ,because i was careless
and did`nt install a popoff valve ,so now i have to change it The problem is that i do not know the size of the air box If i take the serial number of the intake runner ,will this tell me the size of the new box all help welcome:confused: |
The airbox is Porsche part number 911.110.904.00 and the same one fits 2.7 and 3.0 from 1974 to 1983.
Happy hunting. |
I can't remember exactly, but at some point Porsche/Bosch included a cold start fuel manifold inside the airbox. I want to say it was in '81.
Edit: but you can still use an earlier air box for a later SC. |
You can't use the airbox from a 78 or 79 as the intake runners are larger. The cold start manifold was added around 80 or 81 to prevent airbox backfires but hey, yours blew w/ it so it seems to have limited value ie. you could just as easily use a 2.7 airbox.

B_CIS Air Box (38mm Intake Port), 911 (1974-77), 911 (1980-83) Two sizes. SIZE...CSV fuel manifold is a different thing |
Make sure you find all the shards and pieces of your old one if you haven't already, Could complicate matters if sucked in
