Connections to rear window defroster - '70 911

Hi,
I'm installing the rear glass and there are three wires coming up through the rear shelf.

1. short red wire
2. long red wire
3. very long brown wire

Does anybody know where they connect to?

the wiring diagram shows a red/white wire providing power to the heater elements. check your wires to see if one has the white stripes. it looks like you should be able to trace the red/white through a 1-pin connector to the engine compartment and the rear window heater relay (#51).

the brown wire is the ground and should be attached to the other end of the element. the heater element is #82 at the bottom of the diagram.

caveat: i've never taken a look at mine, so this is all from reading the diagram.
