				rare optional hardtop sighting

i was at a shop in orange county today to pick up some used 993 guages that i purchased. while in the back of his shop, I see the replaceable hardtop option!! it IS for sale. i felt him out a bit for a price. he wants around $2500 or so. his shop's number is (714) 979 7040 ..ask for Bob (not affiliated etc. etc. ; just thought someone here may be interested) EDIT- changed phone number- had mistakenly typed in the fax number max

Mike, he did mention what type of latches it had...but i cannot remember off hand...roller latches??? i am fairly convertible/targa illiterate. give him a call. just remember, that the soft top has to be removed to use the hardtop. it would be great for someone in a climate who knows they won't be going top down for several months straight. Kevin, i think the phone number i posted is the number at his shop, not a home or cell number. max

Probably- it looks like thats what they are. Finding all the fittings/ clips & seals would be a little difficult | ||

somebody better get that thing!!! roller latches like on a late 80s targa, or cab. the latch plates on the w/s frame need to be the manual short style, but they're interchangeable with the longer electric type, for those with electric roofs. electric rear defog too!

Cool part- but you will ahve to remove the original convertible top to install it. i believe Porsche quotes something like 6-8 hours labor for the change over
