Stupid Heater Questions
 

I know there have been threads on this before [because I've read them], but I am now failing to find . . .

Simple questions:

Car is an 86 with manual heater [i.e., 4 position switch between seats]

I have just installed a new blower in the eng compartment as the old one was a gonner. It works. If I pull up on the left lever, the blower comes on. If I pull up on the right lever it doesn't; though heat does flow a bit, just not fan assisited. So, for the right lever, I'll check the switch assuming it is misaliged.

The question is that with the engine blower on I do not get any more fan assist via the center rotary switch. The footwell fans don't come on. Are they supposed to if I have the eng blower going? As I understand it, they should come on if you pull the levers and then turn the rotary switch.
