"Leland in Seattle"
My E-ticket is confirmed... I will arrive in Seatte at approximately 4:41 pm PST.
I will expect a shower of flower pedals and a hord of screaming "Beetles style" teens at the arrival gate. So, in a nut shell... It's ON brothers!!! Can't turn back now... so lets make it happen! I can't wait to meet you guys! More in a bit, right now I have to go out and fight some crime.

Man, I was so worried that you might buy an early car or even worse, a Carrera!
Congratulations. Welcome back.

Cool! Are you bringing the bride?
You should drive the 2002 out here and let me buy it from you...I have a VW Golf you can take back with you, unless...you plan on snagging a ride home, an SC that is, with you driving! John

About meeting: I'd have to say the (is it?) 74th street Alehouse. Or head out to Woodinville and take in the brewery.

Where ever the meeting place is, a certain GP White Carrera Targa will be there. Keep us posted.
I would think that meeting at 74th St. would be easiest for Gary and Lee though. Edit: Of course Red Hook did just release this years Winterhook...

I imagine that we will go directly from Sea-Tac to JW's. As much as I have issues with the owners of the 74th St (next door neighbors), it does make the most sense.

Hey while you guys are at JW's ask him to show you my 3.2 heads that he is working on for me. I also sent him the piston with the cracked skirt to try and find me a good used one. A nice show and tell object. He is also putting new ARB rod bolts on my rods along with new wrist bushings.

The pub sits just fine with me.
Here are a list of things I "must" do for the trip and am open to suggestions. Find one nights cheap lodging. Get the car PPI'ed before I get there (won't have time on Fri. and JW is closed on Sat/Sun.) Swap paperwork. Drink beer with Pelicans. Drive to the event on Saturday. Drink beer with pelicans. FInd a spare dist. cap and rotor. "Hopefully", very hopefully be able to get a set of wheels w/ snow tires. Pack everything up. Head out late afternoon/early evening. My time frame got bumped because I discovered my wife looked at the calendar wrong when she told me Veterans day was on Monday. So, I have to be back on Sunday. I'll start driving Saturday evening and find a nice place to stop. A lady at work told me that it is supposed to be very clear this weekend. I hope she's right!

We have a spare bedroom that is available if you want. It goes pretty cheap too.

If you can't get John to do the PPI, go to Denny Aker's or ask Britwrench to handle the chores.
A night's stay in Seattle? Whereabouts sailor ;>? Time your travel throught the passes to coincide with the sun at its peak (hottest part of the day). You REALLY need to get Monday off...this Saturday event and then off to the races seems too much of a conflict. I am a hop skip and jump from Redhook and my wife is a cook beyond reproach. John

yeah...I would leave early in the day, rather than late. Not the time of the year to be traveling mtn passes at night...
You can drive back to Seattle to drink beer in spring. |

I'm thinking about leaving in the mid-afternoon timeframe.
I'm pretty much just going to be playing it by ear. Gary has a PPI set up for Thursday morning at JW's. I just need to make sure I can find some steel lugnuts and get a hold of Craig (boxstr) to make sure he can get the wheels and I'll be all set. Hey John, Where's Redhook? Also, Glenn, Mark, and the rest of you guys, PM me with a good contact number. Leland
