Why do some pics of "factory tails" have the grill that appears to be an insert "normally in black" and other tails appear to be all one piece? Did they change the style at some point in time?

Dennis,
The flat black "insert" is actually just a painted section. The factory tea tray is one-piece fiberglass with the exception of the rubber trim. Hope that helps.
