Is there an ideal fuel pressure?

Is there an ideal fuel pressure for 911s? Is this conditional for the year/model?

Is there a list per configuration somewhere?

And lastly, what are the effects of too little, and the opposite, too much fuel pressure?

Thank you.

Very conditional per type of induction. Carbed early 911s take very little pressure (3-5 psi). Later fuel-injected cars need high pressure.

Effects? Too little and the car won't run. Too much and it will smoke, foul plugs, wash down the cylinder walls with gas and dilute your lube oil, seize your rings, and in the worst case scenario, it can hydro-lock the engine by filling the cylinders with fuel.

I have a Holley adjustable regulator, and I'm running below 2.0 psi after adjusting it today. It runs better at this psi. Is this OK?
