Made to be driven

Last weekend we had our local pelican mtn. drive. This is really the hardest I have driven the car since owning it.

What I found most amazing, besides the feel of the car in multiple curves, is that after several hours of hard driving is that the car was running better and felt more responsive than when we started out. Just proves what has been said before.
These cars are made to be driven.

I have been meaning to do some d.e. stuff and now I really have the bug. I haven't stopped thinking about how great the car felt all week.
Just had to share:D

I noticed my car felt faster after my first AX. I get on it every once and a while to clean it out, but I think the constant high RPM's did miracles!

I've noticed that I have less soot in my exhaust pipes after a day on the track. It only takes a couple days of street driving to build it up again.

Yeah I agree chili, I ran mainly in second through most of the turns. I was turning about 4000 to 4500 most of the time. I couldn't really shift to third in order to keep the revs up.

I think it blew out a little soot:D

I think they call it a "Ferrari tune up"

I drove my car pretty hard this fall during a "fall color tour" and even my wife noticed the improvement in the car's performance after the run!!!

Yep Porsche's are meant to be run hard and fast, I recommend Blowing the carbon at least once a day with a blast to 100. Just kidding Drive safe but Give your car a good work out evvery now and then. Steve

I think they call it a "Ferrari tune up" No, "That will be $4500.00" is a Ferrari tune up.

My wife thinks I'm absolutely insane when I take the Porsche out to the highway and run it above 90mph anytime I start it. Last week, I really got it when she thought I just went to get gas and didn't return for 1/2 hour (Chevron station is about 2 minutes from our house). I can't stand the thought of starting up the Porsche and turning it off right away without some high RPM time. Maybe I am insane!

that's why I will stay in low gears a fair amount of the time...crank along at 5K in 2nd gear so I'm within the speed limit. Plus a quick punch at that speed is much more fun than stomping while at 3K.

No wonder I get 12-13mpg...

cruising at 5k!

I have a 80 3.0

5K? No problem, I do it ALL the time. Nearly redline it in first gear every time, cause if you dont shift super fast (as we all know doesnt happen that easily), you will drop below the 3K powerband and then they are pigs.

I live in PA, and if you want to really enjoy a mountian road drive at 6am Sunday morning, you need to keep those revs up!!!!!

I read these books saying stuff like:
the crackshaft for this motor is considered a sleeper, but has no problems at 7K rpms all day.

figure if it does break I will have some fun workin it!

Enjoy!
