Oil Cooler Fans

Hi All,

My cooler fan finally gave up last week. I'm looking for a replacement. I found the following at http://www.elephantracing.com/oilhandling/fans.htm

Now I have to decide between OEM and aftermarket.

Any suggestions from the experienced?

Thanks

Why yes, I'm a big fan of oil coolers!

Have you validated that the fan is really dead? I thought mine died a while back, turns out the relay was having a bad day.

Yep the motor is definetly burnt. I took it out and the motor is frozen.

Thanks for the reply!

OEM parts for our cars are generally great parts, long lasting, well built, etc..., but Chuck at Elephant Racing seems to also sell high quality parts. I don't know about Chuck's fan, but it would be nice to have a fan that is a direct bolt in as the OEM surely is.

Hi masraum,

I lean towards the OEM myself, but, I'm wondering if the aftermarket has better CFM.
Maybe Chuck will notice and chime in...

Chuck's fan looks like a Spal cooling fan. I have one on the auxilary a/c condenser I installed. Nice piece of equipment. Chuck's a good guy, and if you decide not to buy from out host (where you should always look first), my guess is his product (including the installation kit) would be first rate!

FYI, Aftermarket fan is 2.5 times the CFM of OEM. My mind is made up.

Thanks everyone!
