1985 VIN info help

The VIN for my 1985 911 shows an "F" in the 10th (from the left) position. What does this tell me?

I thought scheme was A=81 B=82 C=83 D=84 E=85

Mikkel is spot on.

from the Porsche 911 Red Book (pg 86):

The only change from 1983 was that the 10th digit in the serial number became an "F" to designate a 1985 model.

A Program were cars produced from August 1979 to July 1980 (MY 1980)

A=80
B=81
C=82
D=83
E=84
F=85
G=86
H=87
J=88
K=89
L=90
M=91
N=92
P=93
R=94
S=95
T=96
V=97
W=98
X=99 (as far as I can remember)

I used this decoding scheme (bottom of page)http://www.porschedecals.com/identity911.htm which is apparently inaccurate.
