Here's what I'm seeing right off the bat. The sideview mirrors aren't stock, the rear bumper is a euro post 74 model. It has SC flares and DOT headlights. I'm not sure what type of whaletail that is. I think it has wheel spaces but not sure but that doesn't look like alot of meat in the back. (6's or 7's?)
I think I see early sport seats in there (drool) Hope that's a start edit: Ohh and it's a VERY nice car if that rear bumper was backdated.

All you need is a rear bumpr the matches up with the flares. Other wise the car looks nice

Hi Kevin;
Welcome to the world of MFI. From the pictures, the paint job looks nice. What's the engine like? I hope that it still has the original MFI. The car reminds me a little bit of the first generation 930's when they were still wearing 15 inch wheels and CN36's. What are your plans for the car? What sort of stuff do you want people's comments on? Originality? Fit and finish? Tastefullness? The folks on this board can be pretty harsh "tire-kickers" Uh -- does anyone else here remember CN36's????

Looks like turbo rear flares with standard fronts. Put the proper rear bumper and a Ducktail on the back and it will be a huge step forward. Otherwise looks like a pretty solid foundation.
Enjoy that 2.4E......nice engine.

Needs flares up front, the correct rear bumper, either a plain decklid or a duck. Needs tires to fill out those flares. How fat are the spacers in the rear? Would look better slammed on all 4s. I thought the engine was out first time I looked at it. That paint is gorgeous- a great color. You're going to love that MFI engine, I had one before I tore it apart. Even on its last legs it was a real screamer. Enjoy the car and welcome to the family.

Thanks To Sherman Parish helping get the pictures up on the board. Thanks To Jim Cundiff for engine overhaul and other (TONS) of knowledge. (JIMS GERMAN IMPORTS) - KANSAS Thanks to My brothers..Robert, Rich, Dr. Tom who all have various different years and models of these fine german cars. who have helped me tremendously. Never forget the pedal cluster rebuild and break job in 105 degree weather. Thanks to Kurt V and John Walkers Workshop for information and pointers. Thanks to PELICAN PARTS... Has original MFI. Sideview mirrors are not correct but just wanted to be able to see more of whats going on behind me and picked em up cheap. Have new steel front flared fenders yet to install. All new stopping paws all way round. Maybe new rear bumper and duck lid when $$$$$$ permits. Keep all the MFI pointers coming. Almost sud's time.....almost off work. Everyone have great weekend. Yes Robert would love to take that 914-6 for a crawl.......HEE HEE HEE.... |
