930 flywheel distance Q

Hi there!

I'm working on adapter-plate for 930 3.3 transmission and would like to know distance of flywheel friction-surface from transmission flange. With other words, how deep into the bellhousing does it reach when installed?

Unfortunately, there is a edge around pressure plate that can mess-up measurments so easiest way of measuring would be during the clutch-job when engine is separated from tranny. It's just a matter of measuring distance from flywheel friction surface to transmission-flange alignment area on the engine.

So please, in case you are in the middle of clutch job on your 930 , just take a look and take out your slide calliper.

Here is a picture to better explain what i'm looking for:

I would be VERY grateful if somebody could look up this. Thanx!

Sincerly,

Goran Begicevic

OK, guys on Porsche 911 Turbo Club gave me info i wanted...dimension is 13mm.

There is one more measurment that we need in order to install pilot bearing on right place.

So question nr.2 is:

Could someone please check out distance between friction surface and top of pilot bearing? As far as i know, 930 pilot bearing is installed somewhat under friction plane...it would be really good to know it so we can compensate for it. I attached a picture so you can visualize better which kind of info i need.

Thanx a zillion!

Sincerly, G
