Sport Cat Converter
I've noticed that Dansk makes free flow cat converter for the 911; unfortunately, it commands a price of about $900. Are there any alternatives to the Dansk at a more reasonable price? Any help in finding a source for this part is appreciated.

I've asked the same thing before, and everyone's solution is to get a cheap test pipe and skip the cat altogether. Always seemed simpler to me to not have to reattach a cat every two years, but few agree it's worth saving 900 bucks.

If you search there is some info on building a new cat using an off the shelf unit and parts from existing cat or bypass pipe. Not sure on teh final HP figures, but certainly cheaper then replacing with OEM new or going with the $900 aftermarket unit.

Here's an obscure item in the catalog:
GHL 911SC/Carrera (1978-89) Bolt-on Replacement for factory Catalytic Converter. $445.75 PEL-911CAT I'll try to find out some more info on it next week.
